low-fat lemon trifle
I invented this little recipe over the weekend when some friends were coming over for a cook-out.
It was super easy and DELICIOUS!
Best of all... it was pretty healthy too!
Ingredients & Instructions:
Lemon Cake Mix
20 oz. Sprite
...mix these together and pour into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 30 mins.
Let the cake cool and then crumble it.
16 oz. fresh strawberries, wash and slice
Sprinkle with 1 Tbsp sugar
In another bowl, mix the following...
3/4 c. confectioners sugar
8 oz cool whip
8 oz reduced fat cream cheese
Now, layer using 1/2 the cake crumbs in the bottom of a trifle dish, then place half of whip cream mixture on top, then 1/2 of your sliced strawberries...AND REPEAT
Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
