Easy Caramel Frosting Recipe

1 - 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Heat condensed milk, brown sugar, butter and vanilla in a medium saucepan.  Bring to a boil and then simmer for 4 minutes, stirring constantly.  Gradually add powdered sugar and whisk well.  Pour onto cake while warm.  The icing will harden as it cools.
