Craft Room Paper Storage
Can you believe I was going to throw this away??!? Seriously! I don't know what came over me for a second. Sometimes you have a DISLIKE for something SO MUCH that you can't get past it... if you know what I mean. I was having a hard time getting past my dislike and seeing potential in this. I have had this "Jewelry Chest" for 5 years and have hated it since the moment I bought it.
The red drawers and the oriental feel just don't go with my style. Just when I was thinking about giving it away... DING DING DING (lightbulb moment) I realized that if I saw this at a garage sale this weekend, I would buy it because it has a LOT of potential. Say what? Say what? At that moment, I knew this ugly little darlin's destiny and here it is...
It seems to me that it was made to be a paper storage unit not a jewelry chest. It is the perfect size and holds everything in one organized place! I got busy painting the ugly red drawers (provence ASCP, of course) and while the drawers dried, I cut vinyl labels on my Silhouette Cameo. Ta-da! In a very short amount of time, I transformed it into my favorite thing in the craft room!

ReplyDeleteThis is so great. I need to get one of those silhouette machines. You can do so many great things with it! Love your new paper storage.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea...and it is perfect for storage in your studio.
ReplyDeleteVery clever! Great colors!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did to it. Isn't it funny how we can see things out somewhere and buy them immediately knowing what we're going to do with them and then realize later we have something perfect at home! I hate to think of all of the things I got rid of only to turn around and buy another at some point in time!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'll have to comb the thrift stores to look for something like this for craft storage! What a great idea!

Hey! This is great! I love the use for paper storage. I'm a slight paperaholic myself. I would like to say recovering but I can't. My paper storage is here if you want to look!

That's so funny! Makes me want to go around my house and look at the stuff I already have as if I'm seeing it at a thrift store or a rummage sale for the first time. Great job, love the cabinet!
