Update

No Link Party this week!

I'm sorry that I'm not hosting a party this week. Life has been crazier than usual lately! I've been pretty sick and am also working many hours on a side project that will end the first week of November! I will be at a conference next week, so I'm going to just go ahead and close shop for a week. I can't wait to get back to you all and do the Friday features at our next party.

This will be my final post about MUSTACHES! The big party was a huge success and I highly recommend this theme for any kind of party. The possibilities are endless!!!

Balloons & Birthday Banner

These aren't special mustache balloons, I just stuck vinyl mustaches on plain old balloons. I thought they turned out really cool.

Doggie Mustache

Hey, I know it's a really bad picture but it's hard to snap a photo of Cocoa without her moving! I just wanted to show you that the kids put a mustache on Cocoa too. It didn't last long, she tried to eat it.

Mustache Cupcakes

I got plain vanilla and chocolate cupcakes at Gigi's Cupcakes and then I added the mustaches.

I made them using a mold I bought here on Etsy.

Pin the Mustache on Natalie GAME

I enlarged a photo of Natalie to 18 x 24 and then they played a game of PIN THE TAIL using a mustache. I love this photo of her, I took it over the summer and it was perfect for the mustache game.

The Table

I used an idea I found on Pinterest... I bought a roll of gift wrap and used it as a table runner. It was really cute! I got the adorable straws on Etsy here. They are like old-fashioned paper straws and how cute are the pink and white stripes? I got the straw mustaches at Hobby Lobby.

Roses for the Birthday Girl

I have a tutorial posting next week about how to arrange roses so that they don't move after you put them in the vase... it's a quick, easy trick!

The EXTRAS... Party Nails & Pendant

I ordered these nail decals here. Aren't they cute?

They are really easy to apply... just little vinyl nail stickers.

I got the pendant here. It's so cute :)

Key Lime Cake

Key Lime Cake

a.k.a. "Shrek Cake"

This is one of the best cakes EVER! It could be made using any flavor of jello, I suppose. My sweet kids, as toddlers, called this "Shrek Cake" because of the color. It tastes AMAZING, it's very MOIST!!!

1 box lemon cake mix

1 6 oz. box lime jello (powder)

3/4 cup orange juice

5 eggs

1 1/3 cup oil

Icing:

1/2 cup butter

1 8 oz cream cheese

1 lb powdered sugar

chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cake mix and jello (powder). Add orange juice and mix. Add one egg at a time, mixing between each. Add oil and mix well. Bake 20-30 minutes.

Ice cake when completely cool.

Photo Booth Props for Mustache Bash

Deep thoughts by Nicole...If I was a man, I would NEVER grow a mustache cause it makes my BIG nose look even BIGGER!

But seriously, doesn't this photo make you laugh???

Today, I cut out numerous mustaches and glasses for the photo booth at the party. I can't wait to see how the party pics turn out. We are going to use all Instagram style photos. I'll be sure to share them next week.

FYI...I used my Silhouette Cameo with card stock to make these props. I attached them to the sticks using glue dots.

I'm still busy making plans for the BIG 13TH BIRTHDAY BASH this weekend.
This is what I did today...

I made this chalkboard sign to display at her party. I used those really cool chalkboard pens. Have you seen them? You can find them at craft stores. I got mine at Hobby Lobby. They look just like chalk on the board and they clean easily with a little water.

I made these for party favors... It's MUSTACHE of candy... hahaha!
I just used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out vinyl mustaches and stuck them on the cups... easy, quick project and the cups only cost $4 at Walmart plus they're BPA free!

Here's the fun banner I made to hang up at her "Mustache Bash" this weekend. I'll post official pics of the party next week. I used my Silhouette cameo to cut the rounded squares, scalloped squares and letters. The background squares measure 5 inches. The scalloped squares are 3.5 inches. I used some of my favorite free fonts for this banner. If you click on the font name, it will take you to the download link...

Happy 100th day!

This is the 100th post on my blog! I love writing this blog so much and I cannot believe that I have had 45,000 page views in the past 5 months! I have met so many amazing bloggers and friends this year. Thank you for all of your help on this continued journey.
